Overriding Royalty Interests (ORRI)

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could add something to your portfolio where somebody else took the risk of finding the oil, investing in the equipment, permitting, and sale of the product? And you, as the investor, receive a portion of the income from the production of the oil and gas? Of course it would. And Royal Mesa Minerals makes it possible to do just that by investing in overriding royalty interests.

Overriding Royalty Interests Explained

Overriding Royalty Interests (ORRIs) are fractional rights of participation in the proceeds from the sale of oil or gas, derived from specified tracts of oil-producing property, but limited in duration to the terms of an existing lease.

All of the expenses involved with development, operation, and maintenance of the well are incurred by the oil company. You, as the investor, don’t own the mineral rights or the actual oil and gas itself, but you own a portion of the revenues generated from the sale of the products.

Unlike owning a lease or owning mineral rights, ORRIs do have an expiration date, coinciding with the term limits of the existing lease.

Therefore, to lessen risks, Royal Mesa Minerals has a staff of petroleum engineers, landmen, geoscientists and other energy experts whose main goal is to evaluate the income potential and reserves in the royalty assets offered. In other words, it’s our job to see that you get the most out of your investment.
